Factory Girl

"One person in the 60's fascinated me more that anybody I had never known. The fascination I experienced was probably very close to a certain kind of love."
Andy Warhol

Today I have seen on of the best biographical movies ever. Edie Sedgwick fascinated Andy Warhol, and their story fascinated me. The movie show us the artist behind the man, and the actress behind the girl, as you can see by my words is on the contrary of the other biographical movies. The movie has an excellent photography, the factory is an almost perfect rejoinder of the famous Andy Warhol's factory. The artmosphere is characterized by a sick, pestilent, disgusting and vanguardist air, that seems to be infected with the smoke of the 60's especially if we talk about Andy Warhol and his lovers. I congratulate the director George Hickenlooper for his great job on this movie/documentary, a great and really judge of this so complex drama.

Everyone of us have heard about Andy Warhol, that eccentric and peculiar character of the 60's and the 70's, maybe it sounds a little bit ironic but he inspired the pop motion and he was fascinated by people like Jim Morrison or Mick Jagger; I have to confess that before I watch the movie I hated Andy Warhol and now I appreciate him, He was an Artist, a true Artist, and he had a brilliant mind, well...I have to recognise that he was probably the most original artist in art history.

Edie Sedgwick. She was so fucking sexy, she was like the woman that all the girls wanna be, her style, her cigarette...ohh god, make me like her; well I was joking a little bit, but that's truth; I think this song say everything about her that I cannot say:

Edie (Ciao Baby)

The Cult

Always said you were a youthquaker, Edie
A stormy little world shaker
Oh, Warhol's darling queen, Edie
An angel with a broken wing

The dogs lay at your feet, Edie
Oh, we caressed your cheek
Ooh, stars wrapped in your hair
Ooh, life without a care
But your not there

Oh, caught up in an endless scene, Edie
Yeah, paradise, a shattered dream
Oh, wired on the pills you took, Edie
Your innocence dripped blood, sweet child

The dogs lay at your feet, Edie
Oh, we caressed your cheek
Ooh, stars wrapped in your hair
Ooh, life without a care
Ciao baby

Shake it, boy

Oh, sweet little sugar talker
Paradise dream stealer
Oh, Warhol's little queen, Edie
An angel with a broken wing, oh

The dogs lay at your feet, Edie
Oh, we caressed your cheek, well
Stars wrapped in your hair
Ooh, life without a care
Yeah, yeah, yeah

Why did you kiss the world goodbye?
Ciao baby
Don't you know paradise takes time?
Ciao, yeah
Why did you kiss the world goodbye?
Ciao baby
Don't you know paradise takes time?
Ooh, ciao, yeah
Ciao baby, yeah
Ciao baby
Ciao baby, yeah
Ciao baby

I would like to dedicate this song to my friend Marlene {N3CROMMONS}; The Cult is one of her favourite bands, and this song has a special meanning.
